republicans say they have new evidence of a cover hp up by the obama administration in the deadly attack on the u.s. consulate in libya, but california senator dianne feinstein said she has looked at the same evidence and doesn't see it. brian moore has the story from washington. >> in washington, a war of words over the talking points that followed the fateful attack last september on the u.s. consulate in benghazi, libya. >> i would call it a cover pupp. i would call it a coffverup in e extent there was willful removal of information that was obvious. it was obvious. >> new testimony in recently discovered documents this past week revealed the talking points about the attack last september 11th were changed. changed a dozen times before u.n. ambassador susan rice took to the sunday talk show circuit. they said the obama administration covered it knew was a terror attack to

protect the president's campaign weeks before the election. democrats say it's about the 2016 election and hurting former secretary of state hillary clinton's chances of running. >> and every effort has been made to turn it into something that is diabolical. i don't see that. >> this was a squabble between two agency, the cia and the state department, about the wording. >> wording that gives the president's critics new ammunition to keep fighting over benghazi. >> the real question is where they manipulated in terms of in the middle of an election to not tell really the full sorie and give the picture to the american people. >> republicans say they want answers, and that means more hearings. ultimately, republicans would like to get hillary clinton back on capitol hill and back on the hot seat. brian moore, nbc news, washington. in turkey, leaders say it's time for the world to get involved in the civil war in neighboring syria. that after two car bombs blew up in turkey this weekend, killing dozens of people.

reports that turkish officials are blaming the syrian government for the bromings. mournings gathered to bury some of the more than 40 kills in saturday's blast. a much different mood dominated major turkish cities like istanbul. hundreds of protesters are outraged over the explosions they blame on the syrian government. it's a sentiment echoed by turkish authorities who arrested nine people in the attacks. investigators say they're all turkish citizens, all with direct links to the regime of syrian leader bashar al assad. the incident is the most violent since the start of the civil war more than two years ago. turkey's prime minister warned anyone who wants to harm turkey will have to pay a price, but stopped short of calling on military retaliation. syria has denied any involvement in the blast, but turkey points

to the town where the blast occurred as being a hub of syrian refugees and rebels. syria's opposition says now that violence has spilled into other countries, it's time for the international community to pay attention to just how desperate the syrian crisis has become. >> it is very obvious that only the assad regime will benefit from such erroneous attacks against civilians, that's what they're doing inside of syria and that's what they're trying to accomplish by taking the crisis of the syrian people and taking it internationally. >> tensions now boiling over in an already volatile region. francis coe, nbc news. in cleveland, people came together today to help the three women freed this past week after being held as sex slaves for a decade. ron allen has more on that and what new challenges may lie ahead for one of the victims. >> michelle and the missing. >> they marched for michelle knight because they see her as

the forgotten one. amanda berry with her daughter, and thencvh gina dejesus, retu home to joyous reunions with family and friends. but knight left a hospital with no fanfare, for a secret location. >> we just want to let michelle know that, you know, she may have been forgotten, but now as a community, we'll never forget her. >> knight, now 32, was the first of the three women to be abducted. a single mother who authorities say they could not confirm was actually missing at the time. her disappearance never a huge news story like berry or de jesus. then and now, for reasons that are unclear, relatives say knight is estranged from her family. meanwhile, the community struggles forward. workers busy sealing the house prosecutors called a torture chamber, and directing a high fence around it. local officials say there are credible threats of arson. >> we will do what we need to to protect that property, particularly as i suspect it's

sgroo prince harry is bringing plenty of attention to an event near to his heart. it's called the warrior games where wounded or ill military members compete in sporting events. and leann gregg has the latest. >> one of the featured events of today's warrior games, cycling. the guest of t%honor, prince harry, a captain in the british army. during the games, 260 injured or ill military members will compete in seven events where sport is a tool for recovery. >> i'm absolutely ready. >> the prince started the first race of the day, good naturedly quipping uthis home team.

with all the hype and excitement about the warriors, this news comes at a rather odd time. one of the team's principle owners might soon be forced to sale his stake. >> he has done nothing wrong, but he's doing international headlines for what he wants to do. we have the exclusive interviews with the warriors co-owner who is also a silicon valley tycoon. >> you might not know this man or his ultra successful company, or maybe you do. if you ever bought an e-ticket on an airline, ever shipped something on fedex, or activated that iphone of yours, you're using his soph ware. he revolutionized the use of realtime data. his silicon valley fortune is being spent in part on the warriors, but soon he'll likely be giving up his courtside seats

i have no doubt that there will be a lot of people wanting to buy that stake. >> last question, so you tell your relatives back in india, hey, i'm an nba owner. they look at you confused like what the heck are you doing? >> actually, believe it or not, they know a lot about basketball. and they know many of the big names, and so basketball is already catching on in india. and you go to india and you see people wearing jerseys from the nba. so it's in its infancy, but it's growing. >> sacramento kings jerseys? >> well, perhaps not, perhaps not, but hopefully i can change that. >> all right, that was raj reporting. on friday, a competing group of investors increased their bid to and move the team to seattle. his current bid is currently at $550 million.

the league will vote on the future of the franchise wednesday. >> let's check in again on this week's weather. here is rob talking about a gorgeous mother's day. >> we had the temperatures warm inland. at this hour now as we take you out to the mountain, you can see some of the changes we're about to see now. you have the low clouds sweeping right by the camera there, blocking our view of san francisco. and you can see the low clouds spilling in across the peninsula. what we're starting to see happen at this moment is a marine layer pressed down to below 1,000 feet this weekend. that's the reason the valleys hit the 90s. 80s today. now the marine layer is going to deepen up and spill further inland. up to 2,000 feet thick by tomorrow. this is going to bring us drizzle at times, mist for the morning commute. it's also going to keep the temperatures down as we go into monday and tuesday. and you're going to see some of the changes now. quite cool in san francisco, but notice livermore. 83 might see warm until you

compare it to 24 hours ago, almost 10 degrees cooler than yesterday, and much cooler down byd morgan hill. the winds are picking up. sea breeze and ocean air will be the main story as we get back to the work week. for the morning, 6:00, you may notice misty skies or drizzle. and then nothing but sunshine for the afternoon. winds shifting a little bit more northwest during the afternoon, which has cleared the skies out to the coast and mostly clear skies until the low clouds fill in again. for your mother's day evening plans, still pretty comfortable out there, but cooling quickly, into the 50s for tomorrow morning. mostly cloudy start for the inner bay. as we go through the afternoon, there's still a little island of heat here, out towards the county, you can see the numbers jumping to the upper 80s. elsewhere, notice the highs running much cooler than we have seen over the past couple days. the morning mist followed by afternoon sunshine, breezy at times, and our temperatures by wednesday and thursday could turn cooler. a trough of low pressure is

going to drop down the coast closer to the bay area. not close enough to warrant a chance of showers yet, but our highs will drop down more. thursday and friday should be the coolest days of the week, and by next weekend, pretty nice timing there for outdoor plans. warming up to the warmest days of the seven-day forecast right around this time next weekend. pretty good timing. >> we were talking about the bike tour coming back up here. any day is a good day for biking. that forecast has no bad days, but it's going to be warming up. >> should be nice. southern california had highs near 100. they're going to get cooling down there, too, which is good news for the weekend. >> thanks a lot. >> we'll be right back.

palo alto native and actor james franco plans to return to the bay area tomorrow night. he'll be here to promote his new book entitled "a california childhood" about his childhood where he lived here until he was 18. he said growing up, he took note

of the dichotomy between palto alto and east palo alto. he also said he got into trouble in high school and the arts saved him. he starred in the movies au"mi "pineapple express" and "127 hours" to name a few. they appear at a book store tomorrow night. >> it was a classy turn out at a casting call to the sequel for "anchorman." thousands of residents turned out for a shot at a role in the film. filming has begun which will include will ferrell, steve carell, christina applegate. casting directors were overwhelming by the response that was estimated at well over 1500 people. people got in line 6 hours before the doors opened. they told the legend of ron burgundy, a lovable buffoon played by ferrell. >> another "saturday night live"

good evening and welcome back. i'm diane dwyer. uc police are investigating a deadly shooting. called to grizzly peak boulevard at 6:00 this morning because of a car accident. when they arrived they found a man outside the vehicle suffering from multiple gunshots. they couldn't revive him. he died at the scene. the road is still blocked due9 o the investigation. police have not released the name of the victim. >> the small town in calavares county is trying to come to terms with the news that a 12-year-old boy has been arrested for killing his -year-old sister. about the relationship between the two children earlier this week before the boy's arrest.
